A high place of culture, Olot is one of the nerve centres of the Costa Brava, with theatres, museums and arenas.
Living in Olot or only passing through means giving yourself the possibility of a rich cultural and sporting life in a unique setting. Near the centre town, is the start of a rare itinerary giving access to a great number of architectural examples of Art Nouveau, from the Casa Mas Collellmir (1910), the Casa Pujador (1911-12) or the casa Escubos (1906). The alternation of art nouveau and old constructions make Olot a place of discovery to understand the history of the Costa Brava, and more widely the building heritage of Spain.
Olot is also a volcanic site from where you will be able to walk the marked routes of the Fageda d'en Jorda, on a lava flow from the Croscat volcano. This volcano covered with vegetation gives the landscape a feeling of infinite power. The volcano of Santa Margarida will offer you an exceptional discovery, the presence of a hermitage in its own setting.
